Hi, I’m Bel Mehaffy. writer, actor, and comedian based in Brooklyn.I trained at several conservatories in New York and San Francisco. I love work that is emotionally grounded, physically alive, and just a little bit surreal. I wrote, directed, and starred in SLAPHAPPY, a semi-autobiographical short film about addiction, grief, and absurdity, and I regularly perform stand-up comedy with a focus on relationships, mental health, and recovery. As a playwright, I gravitate toward dark humor and heightened, theatrical worlds—like Coil, my most recent project, a desert-set play about sobriety and snakes, based on my time in rehab.
