Hello - acting is something I would like to come back to after many years pursuing a writing career. All my experience comes from my time at university and for a year or two after graduating. A long time ago - I was active between 1984 and 1990.
My ‘career’ was successful in terms of roles. I played lead or major parts in everything I auditioned for. My last role was in a semi-professional production of The Threepenny Opera, directed by Alison Oddey - an author and lecturer at the university. I played Macheath alongside a live band and a cast mostly of students. I didn’t properly audition. Ms Oddey had been struggling to find a Macheath. I was recommended, invited to read for her, and given the part. Apparently I had ‘natural charisma’ in those days. Ha! Still, I had abandoned acting as a career, from being obsessed as a student. All these years later, I’d love to show I can still act. On screen, not stage. I don’t expect success but if you don’t try, you’re only guaranteeing it.
