We're seeking a captivating performer to embody the Mayor of Hope, a ceremonial figurehead who has journeyed from the actual village of Hope in Derbyshire to "bring Hope to the capital." In this role, you'll lead an important ribbon-cutting event tailored for media coverage and social media buzz, warmly welcoming fans to the venue before the main event kicks off.
Ideal Candidate:
We need a warm, larger-than-life character actor—imagine a proud local dignitary fused with a lovable England optimist. The tone is playful and celebratory. You should be comfortable in front of cameras and audiences, confidently navigating a live, unscripted setting.
Requirements:
- Comfortable wearing full mayoral attire (including chains and robes)
- Excellent improvisational skills for a dynamic live event
- Actors with Showreels preferred - Dates
- Live brand activation event for an online casino tied to England's opening 2026 World Cup match. One night only, London venue. Wednesday 17th June. 6.30pm - 11.30pm

The Role
We're looking for a characterful performer to play the Mayor of Hope — a ceremonial figurehead who has travelled down from the real village of Hope, Derbyshire to officially "bring Hope to the capital." Appearing alongside England legend John Barnes at a ribbon-cutting launch moment designed for press, broadcast and social coverage, the Mayor welcomes fans into the space ahead of kick-off.
What We're Looking For
A warm, larger-than-life character actor — think proud local dignitary meets loveable England optimist. The tone is tongue-in-cheek and celebratory. You'll be comfortable in front of cameras, press and a crowd, and able to hold your own in an unscripted, live environment.
Requirements
Comfortable in costume (full mayoral regalia — chains, robes)
Strong improvisation skills — this is a live event, not a controlled set
